About Him
I am a kind, open-minded, easy-going, fun-spirited, adventurous person. I enjoy my immediate family (my "ex" and two children), extended family and also friendships. I am fortunate to have good friendships...I've known my longest friend since we were five years old which i think gives you a good idea of the type of person I am.
I have a lot of interests and focus on nurturing my mind, body and soul. As far as body, I'm into living a healthy lifestyle and follow Dr. Mark Hyman's approach (reference his book "The Pegan Diet"). I also like to exercise and be active. I'm into tennis (played competitive as a kid), cycling--indoor (love my Peloton) and outdoor, hiking, hot yoga, Pilates and taking my dogs for walks and to the park. As far as mind, I believe in lifelong learning and am always reading and looking to learn new things. For example, during Covid lockdown, I really got into cooking and trying new recipes. For soul/spiritual, I'm not religious (Presbyterian by family and also attended eight years of Catholic school), but I am spiritual. I'd say that I most identify with Buddhism. I practice mindfulness and meditation on a daily basis.
While I have lots of interests, my passion is sailing and I keep a nice sail boat in SF. I try to sail as much as possible in the beautiful SF Bay and other parts of the world. I've captained numerous charters in the Mediterranean.
As far as Likes and Dislikes...I like a lot of things...some of which I mentioned above. I really enjoy travel, learning, music (live shows), etc. Dislikes...people who criticize, complain and compare as I like coming from a place of empowerment.
Overall, I think I have a very positive outlook on life. While the world has a lot of problems, I choose to focus on what's good about it and the wonders of our world. I think my daily mantras as listed below sum up the attitude I actively nurture:
